What the blue check means and how to ask for one

A blue check beside a name means the GTAPoliceMods team has confirmed that creator is who they say they are. An admin grants it after you ask. It can't be bought.

The marks beside a name

Mark Who has it How they get it
Blue shield with a check A verified creator An admin approves their request
Blue seal with a star An official account, such as GTAPoliceMods itself or a mod team An admin grants it directly
Green plate The owner or a representative of an active partner It comes with their place in the partnership, and goes when that ends
Lightbar Staff It comes with their staff role

Hover over a mark, or tap it on a phone, to see why the account has it and since when.

Staff are marked by the lightbar, never by a check.

What a blue check changes

  • Your files can be up to 10 GB each, where everyone else has 2 GB.
  • You can upload 50 files and 100 GB a day, where everyone else has 20 files and 20 GB.
  • Your uploads skip new-account review. See Why your first uploads wait for review.

What you need before asking

  • At least 3 published mods
  • An account at least 30 days old
  • No active warning points, and no bans or removed content in the last 90 days
  • Two-factor authentication turned on for your Discord account
  • Proof of who you are elsewhere: connected accounts first, such as a GitHub account or a YouTube channel, then links for what can't be connected, such as your profiles on other mod sites

Account settings shows whether the site sees two-factor as on for your Discord account. Turn it on in Discord's settings, under My Account. The site reads it when you sign in.

How to ask

  1. Open Verification in your settings.
  2. Tick the connections that count toward your request. Hidden ones can be included.
  3. Add links for anything that can't be connected, and a short message.
  4. Send it. You can have one request open at a time.

An admin looks at your request, your mods, your account's age and history, and whether two-factor is on, then approves or denies it with a note.

If the answer is no

A denial isn't appealed. You can ask again after 30 days. Use the time to fix what the note says.

Keeping it

The check stays as long as the reasons for it hold. An admin takes another look, and can remove it, if:

  • your shown name changes, on Discord or on the site
  • you turn off two-factor on Discord
  • you remove or lose a connection your request included

The check stays in place until the admin decides.
