Getting back in without Discord
Sign in with an emailed code or a recovery code when you can't use Discord, and set up both before you need them.

You sign in to GTAPoliceMods with Discord, and there are no passwords. If you can't use your Discord account, go to Get back into your account and use whichever of these you still have: a code sent by email, or one of your recovery codes.
Both only work for an account that already exists. Neither makes a new one.
A code by email
- Open /recover and enter your email address.
- We send a code to it if it's your account's email or your recovery email.
- Enter the code to sign in.
The page gives the same answer whether or not an account uses that address, so it can't be used to test who has an account. If no email arrives, check that you typed an address that's on your account.
A recovery code
- Open /recover.
- Enter your username and one of the codes you saved. A code looks like
XXXX-XXXX.
Each code works once. This route works even when every email address on the account is gone.
After you get back in
For 7 days after signing in this way, the account is on a hold. During the hold you can't add, change or remove the recovery email, download your data, or delete the account. Uploading, commenting and everything else still work. The hold is there so a recovery that went to the wrong person can still be undone, and Account settings shows when it ends.
If your account's email changed and it wasn't you
Your account's email comes from Discord each time you sign in. When it changes, both the old and the new address get an email, and the old address keeps working for 30 days. The email carries a link that puts the old address back, unlinks that Discord account and signs out every device. Once you're in, link the Discord account you use now from Account settings.
Set these up before you need them
On Account settings, under "Getting back in":
- Recovery email. An address you choose, confirmed with a code. It has to be different from your Discord email, and nothing that happens on Discord can change it.
- Recovery codes. A set of 8, shown once. Save them somewhere safe. Making a new set stops the old ones working.
The same card shows which ways back in your account has and which are missing. Changing either needs a recent sign-in, so you may be asked to sign in again first.
If you have none of these
An account with no working email, no recovery email, no recovery codes and a lost Discord account has nothing that separates its owner from anyone who has read its profile. Try to recover the Discord account through Discord first. That is their process, and it restores your sign-in here too.
