Connecting your other accounts and choosing which show on your profile
Connect accounts such as GitHub, Steam and Twitch to prove they're yours, and decide which of them appear on your profile.

A connection is another account of yours, shown on your profile with a link: GitHub, Steam, Twitch, and later X and YouTube. You prove it's yours by signing in to the other site, so a connection is the one link on a profile that nobody can type in.
What a connection is and isn't
- It is proof that you control that account. The profile shows its name and links to it.
- It isn't a way to sign in. You sign in to GTAPoliceMods with Discord only, and a connection never counts as a way back into your account.
- It isn't a blue check. A check means the team has confirmed who you are. See What the blue check means and how to ask for one.
You can connect one account from each site, and each outside account can be connected to one GTAPoliceMods account.
Connecting an account
- Open Connections in your settings.
- Choose Connect beside the site you want. You may be asked to sign in again first, since this needs a recent sign-in.
- Sign in on the other site and approve.
- You land back on Connections with the new connection listed and its switch in front of you.
The site asks the other service which account you signed in to, once, and doesn't keep access to it afterwards. If the account is already connected to another GTAPoliceMods account, you're told so and nothing is connected.
Choosing which show on your profile
Two switches decide, and a connection shows only when both are on:
| Switch | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Show connections on my profile | Privacy settings | Hides or shows all of them at once |
| Show on profile | Connections, one for each connection | Hides or shows that one |
Both start on, since connecting is the choice to show it. Accounts under 18 start with the first switch off.
Your Discord account is in the list too, with its own switch. It can't be removed there, because it's how you sign in.
A hidden connection still counts as proof. You can include it in a request for a blue check without showing it to anyone else.
What your profile shows
Each connection is a small chip with the site's mark and your name there, in a fixed order, linking to your account on that site. Nothing else is brought over: no avatar, no follower count.
When a name changes or an account goes away
The site looks each connection up from time to time, so a rename over there shows up here. If the other account can't be found, the connection comes off your profile. If it still can't be found a day later, you get a notification and can reconnect it or remove it. A connection that stays lost for 30 days is deleted.
Removing a connection
Choose Remove beside it on Connections. It leaves your profile straight away. Deleting your GTAPoliceMods account removes all of them.
